Basket classes

I will be teaching a basket weaving class in January. These are the four baskets they will make. I did a demo at the fall art festival and several people were interested in learning how to
weave a basket. So I need to get the patterns written and make sure I have all the supplies I will need. I think I should have had the classes in February or March.

Some quilt blocks

I am learning to do "some" quilting. Actually just making the blocks. I belong to a group in Utah,

called the Dixie Quilt Quild. They are having a block challenge each month. So I thought I would give it a try. I don't think I will ever make a big quilt, but maybe a purse sounds about my size.

I am more into fabric postcards and small art quilts, but like learning new things.

First one was using strips. Second was leaves or trees. The third was flying geese. They vote for

most creative, best interpretation and peoples choice. I got peoples choice on the flying geese.

Needless to say, I was thrilled.

Well, from what I can tell, I am not very good at blogging yet. The pictures are all in

out of order. Practice makes perfect.

This is another piece from Dale's class. I really like this one. It is soy silk (from Joggles) embellished onto white felt. This is a real fun class.

Class

I am taking a class from Dale Rollerson (The Thread Studio) for the embellisher
machine. We are doing our first lesson. This is felt, slushy and chiffon. Then burnt some holes with heat gun. Having a great time. On to some more samples.

Wild Woman Pin

I was playing on my embellisher and this is what I ended up with. Kinda funky huh.

Green Pc

I forgot to mention that the green pc is on it's way to Susan Lenz. I traded with her and it will be in a gallery show in January 2009.

Green PC

The backing is green velvet to which I embellished some chiffon and yarns on it.
Then I used a piece of Tyvek, Painted and stitched it, then heated with an iron.
Hand stitched it on the PC and added some beads. Love Tyvek.

This is what I made for a trade on Surface design. Love working with Tyvek.
Also used my embellisher on the background.
